Patrice Dobies

Patrice is a highly experienced special education administrator who has devoted her career to improving the educational outcomes for students with disabilities.

She strongly believes in providing access and opportunities for students with disabilities within the least restrictive environment. This belief has been firmly strengthened by her practice. Patrice has established many educational programs along a continuum from highly individualized learning environments to integrated co-teaching settings. She has gained her expertise in providing day-to-day special education and pupil personnel services while supervising a large department in a well-respected Long Island school district. Patrice understands the demands of this position within a district and the importance of working collaboratively at the classroom, building and district levels.

Patrice is currently earning her doctorate in Educational Leadership at Manhattanville College. Her dissertation research is focused on the experiences of parents of children with significant disabilities transitioning to the adult service programs.
