Professional Development & Parent Training

North Star can assist the special education leader with the professional development of your staff. This includes developing a training needs assessment and departmental review. This time consuming process can be alleviated with our support to address such areas of academic programming, special education law, post-secondary transition and mental health. North Star consulting will help develop parent training workshops on important relevant and important topics. Our services include but are not limited to:

• Provide staff development related to all aspects of the Committee on Special Education with an emphasis on IEP quality and compliance.

• Work with administrators and teachers in the writing of compliant IEPs including goals and progress monitoring

• Provide professional development in Response to Intervention (RTI), Instructional Support Teams, Goal writing, and progress monitoring of goals.

• Develop parent training programs for students transitioning to adult services
